The Squire Munro Project Newsletter
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Issue #4 Spring 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the fourth newsletter for The Squire Munro Project.
As you know, I have undertaken the task of compiling a list of Squire Munro's descendants which will eventually be available in a book. This newsletter will keep you informed about my progress and circulate news and announcements to the extended family. If for any reason you do not wish to receive future newsletters please let me know.
I hope to continue contacting new distant cousins so please feel free to forward this to any relatives who may be interested. If you receive this email forwarded from another family member and you have not been in touch with me, please send me an email. I would enjoy hearing from you!
Descendant Update
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So far I have compiled a list of 1865 descendants of Squire Munro (compared to 500 in March 2006). Please continue to spread the word about my project and encourage others to share their genealogical information.
Major Website Update
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have made big changes to my project website. The main page is expanded and the artifacts page now has many new photographs! Take a look and let me know what you think.

Photos of Nathan Munro's Grave
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
During a recent trip to Providence, RI, I located and photographed the gravestones of Squire's parents - Nathan Munro (1730-1806) and Hannah (Allen) Munro (1733-1816)!
The graves are located directly behind Hannah's parents, David Allen (1707-1751) and Hannah (Padelford) Allen (1715-1751). They are located in Hunt-Newman Cemetery in East Providence, Rhode Island which sits on the south-west corner of the intersection of Newman Ave (Rt. 152) and Pawtucket Ave (Rt. 114). The graves stand just inside the stone wall running parallel to Pawtucket Ave by the second tree from the intersection. There is also a group of stones for other "Monroe" descendants of Nathan directly on the left when you enter the grave yard from the Newman Ave entrance. Photos of the graves along with a map showing their location can be found on my site's artifacts page mentioned above.
